WAKENING SHROUDS | 2000 | installation As mineralized water is transformed into a lighter state, it brings to life a series of frozen images and becomes their "soul". Three-dimensional ghost clouds hover within the viewer's reach. The never repeating scatterings of light through never repeating currents of water vapor are a restratification of the fluctuating conditions during which the early universe (the prima materia) spontaneously separated into the celestial ladder of interlocking essences. By carefully displacing the primary elements, one arrives at the vast diversity of matter comprising the still evolving Periodic Table.
